Ontario Fly-In Fishing

Discover Remote Ontario Lake & River Fishing For Walleyes and Northerns

Planning Your Remote Ontario Fishing Trip

Whether this will be your first Ontario Fly-In Fishing Trip, or you have been coming to Canada every summer for the past ten years or so – much of the excitement is in the planning and the anticipation of heading north and taking that long awaited float plane trip far beyond the highways, cities and towns and spending a week in Ontario’s Wilderness with family or friends.

At Northern Frontier Outpost Ltd, we want to ensure you have all the information you need to plan for your wilderness fishing trip in order that we may meet and exceed your expectations.

The Float Plane Trip To Camp

Guests will normally fly to camp on the Dehavilland Beaver Float Plane, which is one of the safest and best known Canadian Bush Planes in the world. However, because of the distance required to reach our remote Dora Lake Outpost, extra fuel is required – which means the aircraft payload is reduced.

When planning what to bring on your fly-in trip, guests need to be aware of the weight restriction which will only allow a maximum of 300 lbs per person which includes body weight and baggage. So if you weigh 250 lbs you will only be allowed to bring 50 lbs of baggage / gear / tackle / grocery.

The Outpost Camp

We have invested a lot of time and effort to ensure your total safety and comfort while at camp. Just because we are on a remote wilderness lake – doesn’t mean your accommodations need to be rough. In fact we hope you will be pleasantly surprised to find most of the modern conveniences in our fully insulated rustic pine interior outpost.

Guests will enjoy propane cooking, outdoor Bar B Q, outdoor deep fryer, all cooking and eating utensils, two propane refrigerators, showers with hot and cold running water.
